In a bid to obtain a clear legal basis for synthetic information regulation, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) released a draft amendment to the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (IT Rules, 2021).
