In this episode of Industry Spotlight by Creative First, Rabindra Narayan, Managing Director & President, Galactic Televisions & Communications Pvt Ltd, GTC Network, and Lohita Sujith, Sr. Director, Copyright & Digital Economy, Motion Picture Association, discussed the evolution of Punjabi media and the future of Indian creators. Rabindra recounted how he had launched the first Punjabi television channel in 1998, introduced live Gurbani broadcasts from iconic religious sites, and pioneered award shows, music videos, and films that connected deeply with the Punjabi diaspora worldwide. He underscored that passion had been the cornerstone of PTC Network’s success and innovation, enabling regional media to explore bold new avenues and thrive, even as mainstream outlets remained cautious and resistant to taking risks.
He explained that regional content now reached global audiences through the diaspora and described his initiative, the Global Indian Creators Hub, which had united talent across continents, providing technology, AI support, and resources for music, films, TV, and news. Rabindra emphasized the profound transformation AI has brought to the creative process, noting that it has democratized the production of high-quality content that previously demanded the collective efforts of large teams. This technological advancement has empowered young innovators to accomplish far greater feats with limited resources. In his conclusion, he asserted that the future lies in the hands of this new generation. When driven by a foundation of legacy, authenticity, and positive intent, their work holds the potential to catalyze profound, global change.
