The trailer for Mujib – a one-of-a-kind co-production between India and Bangladesh, was unveiled at the Cannes earlier this week.
The trailer was released by I&B Minister Anurag Thakur and his Bangladesh counterpart Hasan Mahmud. The film showcases the glimpses of Bangabandhu, who was a man of indomitable energy and a great admiral.
The trailer release was also attended by French ambassadors of both nations and the cast of the film. The director, Mr. Shyam Benegal delivered a statement remotely.
H E Ambassador Mr. Ashraf, conveyed that the effort and collaboration to make this film is to leave behind a living documentary, a message that the world needs to see, hear and imbibe. He expressed India’s delight to see the two countries come together in an effort of storytelling.
After the speech, Mr. Thakur conveyed his thoughts on the project. He focused on the country’s strengthening relationship with Bangladesh with this film being a example of healthy co-existence.
Continuing the tone of friendship and collaboration, Mr. Hasan Mahmoud, Minister of I&B, Bangladesh, conveyed that India and Bangladesh are bound by blood, never to part! He expressed his gratitude to Director Mr. Shyam Benegel and Scriptwriters Mr. Atul Tiwari and Ms. Shama Zaidi. In his address, he acclaimed the movie to become an inspiration for all the oppressed people around the world for generations.
