
Stephan Bugaj
Stephan Bugaj serves as Senior Vice- President of GenAI Content & Technology at JioStar, where he works on AI-native content ecosystems and conversational experiences, while also driving AI-assisted production workflows, micro-content and short-form storytelling, and emerging formats in interactive television and digital entertainment. With more than three decades of experience spanning technology, entertainment, gaming, and artificial intelligence, Stephan focuses on translating emerging AI capabilities into scalable consumer experiences and next-generation entertainment formats. His work at JioStar is centered on building systems and storytelling models that deepen engagement, enable new forms of participation, and reimagine how audiences interact with content across platforms and devices. Prior to joining JioStar, Stephan served as Chief Creative Officer at Genvid Entertainment, where he pioneered socially interactive streaming series and created the Emmy Award- winning Silent Hill: Ascension. He also served as showrunner on projects including Silent Hill: Ascension, DC Heroes United and Rival Peak. These experiences collectively engaged more than 10 million participants globally, with Rival Peak alone generating over 100 million minutes of engagement during its 16-week run. Over the course of his career, Stephan has held senior creative and technology leadership roles across leading entertainment and AI companies including Bell Labs, Pixar Animation Studios, Telltale Games, Hanson Robotics and Genvid Entertainment. His work has spanned Academy Award-winning films such as WALL-E and Ratatouille; tv series like Netflix's Lara Croft: Tomb Raider anime series; narrative-driven gaming franchises including Game of Thrones and BAFTA nominee The Walking Dead, Season 2; and pioneering AI-led experiences such as Sophia, the world’s first android celebrity. A holder of four patents in production systems innovation and co-author of several papers and a book on artificial intelligence, Stephan has also advised organizations across AI, film, and gaming, including SingularityNET, Perfect World Games, Scott Free Productions and Point Grey Pictures.
