The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE), the world’s leading anti-piracy organization, and ACE member TrueVisions, Thailand’s leading pay-tv provider, have shut down all domains associated with piracy streaming site Uhuseries.com and the Piracy-as-a-Service (PaaS) website Iamtheme.com. Both sites were operated out of Thailand.

Operating since 2019, the Uhuseries.com network of sites logged an average of 1.3 million visitors per month, with most of the traffic originating in Thailand, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Users streamed from a vast collection of U.S. and international TV shows and movies. Seven associated streaming sites, including owlserieshd.com and nunghub.com and 14 back-end domains were also shut down. Back-end domain aplayer.xyz hosted over 78,000 movies and TV shows.

Iamtheme.com had been in operation since 2020 and had an average of 245,000 visits per month. The site functioned as a PaaS platform, which provided third-party websites with access to a sizable collection of U.S. and international films. The platform also provided website development services and ready-made movie streaming and live sports websites that were instantly usable. The 27 piracy streaming sites that relied on Iamtheme.com for content and infrastructure are no longer operational.

“Another successful ACE and TrueVisions collaboration has resulted in the shutdown of two of Thailand’s most notorious illegal streaming services,” said Jan van Voorn, Executive Vice President and Chief of Global Content Protection at the Motion Picture Association and Head of ACE. “Piracy sites such as Uhuseries.com and Iamtheme.com put consumers at risk of malware, undermine investment in the Thai content industry, and reduce tax contributions to the local government. This enforcement action is a win-win for all and sends a strong message to illegal operators that they will face serious consequences.”

Sompan Charumilinda, Executive Vice Chairman of TrueVisions, expressed gratitude for the continued crucial support from Thai law enforcement, saying, “We would like to thank the Economic Crime Suppression Division of the Royal Thai Police for their steadfast commitment to protecting intellectual property rights. Thailand has the capability to produce and distribute world class local content, but we must protect content rights if the benefits are to be realized by the creative economy and the country as a whole.”

TrueVisions has been an ACE member since 2022.

All associated domains of Uhuseries.com and Iamtheme.com now redirect to ACE’s “Watch Legally” page.
