The court should consider the scope of intermediaries when deciding the validity of Rule (3)(1)(d) of the Information Technology Rules, 2021 (IT Rules) as it not only applies to social media platforms like X but also UPI Payment apps, VPNs, and other such services, said Solicitor General Tushar Mehta at the Karnataka High Court on July 17.
